Many people have said Lil Wayne should be thrown back in jail for ruining hip hop. Sure, his new album isn't the conventional rap album we are used to. And I agree, he would have ruined hip hop, if he hadn't outgrown the genre himself. He's bigger than it now. He's outgrown other rappers and hip hop artists. He's something more. Don't agree? I don't care. Just listen to I am not a human being, and you will understand. You might not like it, I don't love it personally, but there is no denying that his style of music is no longer hip hop. He wants the rockstar life but because of the business he's in he can't have it. His odd mixture of rock background and rap lyrics may not please everyone, but he's doing what he loves so who cares? Why can't people just let him do what he loves. It makes him happy, isn't that enough? If he was still in the hip hop industry, then yes he should be arrested for slaughtering it, 100%. But since he's not, can't we just leave him alone?
Moving on, Ray Lewis, I have to complain and bitch, because that's what losers like me who blog do. Old spice commercials, really? Less than a decade ago this guy was a suspect in a double homicide investigation. He's the badass of the NFL. He hits hard and doesn't go down easy. He's ageing but still one of the best defensive players in the league, right up their with Freeney, Palomalu, Revis and the rest of 'em. But he doesn't belong in a TV ad for old spice. He's too rough, and should be focused on cracking into quarterback's ribcages, not cracking into the commercial business. It just doesn't make sense to me.
hey its hunt drew and i argue against the whole lil wayne thing. He is surely still in hip hop when he raps in i am not a human being, while you can argue he is doing rock in rebirth, virtually everything else lil wayne does and has done is hip hop. A guitar doesn't make it rock
ReplyDeleteYeah thats a good point, both different angles. I think his old stuff is till hip hop but when people say songs like that, or prom queen have ruined hip hop I say he's something different. But I totally see where you are coming from.
